India’s largest iron-ore miner NMDC said on Friday that it had reached an agreement with the state government of Karnataka for resuming operations at the key Donamalai mine. Production in the mine had been suspended following imposition of an 80% tax on iron-ore sales way back in November 2018.
The plant has the advantage of rich iron ore and limestone, which is readily available in the adjoining areas. It also enjoys the facilities of cheap power, charcoal and vast market.
